The Light is a short documentary film by Eric Gulliver about the intersection of installation art and music. It follows installation artist Christina Watka and musician Andrew Halchak as they move toward a mixed media installation event in the fall of 2011. It is a film about process. The Light details each artists' method and the tools they utilize to gather inspiration leading up to the construction of three large scale installations with musical accompaniment. How does one write music based on colors? Or how does one alter their installation arrangements based on musical notes? The Light explores these questions while hinting at the unexpected turn of events that occurred on the night of the opening. It is only after that night that the process documented in the film gain new and unexpected significance.
