Mica Cloud was made bespoke to its home in the TETRA hotel in Sunnyvale, CA. Composed of approximately 444 connected chains of mica and brass that span over 40' total in length, the kinetic sculpture floats quietly in the air, breaking the linear nature of the space with an organic composition whose individual strands turn effortlessly at the smallest change in air flow. When direct sunlight reaches it at certain times of day during the year, the suspended mica has an inherent ability to reflect and let light through, creating colorful shadows on the walls. At night, the suspended brass elements catch the light from the ceiling and illuminate the installation.

Kinetic and free floating, the Mica Cloud is never the same in any moment, reminding us to stay present throughout our days and to be still enough to notice the changing light in a minute, an hour, or a season of life.
