β€œThe Lightness of Joy series was born in my light-filled studio that had a wall of large, old western-facing windows that looked over the Hudson River in New York. The materials kept asking to be lifted, lit by the sun, free floating and kinetic. When I opened the windows, the work would move like a wild symphony in the swift swooping breeze.

This series combines suspended chains of mica and sheet brass with horizontal brass bars that add a layer of soft, expanding lines to break up the vertical composition with airiness and movement. While the installation reflects light from any light source, it really sings near a tall window with ample natural light.”
